About Asip


The PUBLIC BUDGET INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION (ASIP) is a non-profit institution created in 1972 by an important number of countries.ASIP’s objective is to help member countries modernise those techniques used to develop budgets for public and financial administration policies at the national, provincial and municipal levels.

ASIP, which is endowed with legal capacity, was incorporated into the United Nations as a Category II Consulting Organism at the February 2, 1984 session of the Economic and Social Council Committee.It is therefore a Multinational Organism with permanent official support to back its actions in the international field. This allows ASIP to designate official representatives to attend public sessions of the Economic and Social Council Committee, its committees and subsidiary bodies as observers; to submit, in writing, considerations on the work of the Council Committee and its committees, respecting matters within the sphere of competence and to propose including subjects to the provisional program of the committees of the Council Committee.As a Consulting Organism of the United Nations, ASIP may eventually be invited to give its opinions or to take on specific studies or research or to prepare certain documents for the committee.

ASIP provides technical aid and assistance through the members of the National Associations by means of its Technical Assistance Program and its Documentation Centre.Governments turn to ASIP in its capacity of Permanent Advisory Organism for all countries when it comes to providing solutions to specific issues related to the public budget.
